A Guideline for Conducting Health Impact Assessments for First Nations in British Columbia, Canada

This guide helps HIA practitioners operating at the provincial and federal levels identify, mitigate, and manage the risks to and impacts on Indigenous health from industrial activity and ensure that decision-making around development includes consideration of historical context and current inequities experienced by First Nations communities. The guide can be adapted to meet the needs of Indigenous communities throughout Canada and internationally, and can be used to develop training.
